"I suppose never having studied art, my approach to a subject is rather head on.”
Anette paints what she sees. Her background colours usually reflect the mood of the environment around her. When cold and stormy, she goes for blue and grey, when quiet and bright her palette is basically white. Anette is not big on colour, 'I am more aware of the light shade and texture, how things feel to the touch.'
Her main aim is to try and capture the essence of the subject, be it the smooth simplicity of an arum or the textured complexity of lavender.
In a nutshell her artwork is simple, quiet and uncluttered.
