Solomon Siko

Solomon was born in Wellington. Siko loved to sketch the world around him, his work was heavily textured and vibrant. He was born with a creative drive and a will to succeed.He is a man of integrity and does not take his talent for granted.

Siko's artistic consciousness was formed in the aftermath of the Soweto uprising. He participated in the first and free elections in 1994. In these years Siko under went an intense self examination as he searched for a viable way to be South African and a part of the world.  Solomon is a respected member of the community as well as a cultural envoy for South Africa.
